In order to have a healthy relationship, you have to respect the power and delicacy of your own body, and in turn, respect others. It is so important to know that more than half of teens around the United States are choosing abstinence, a choice that reflects self control, self-worth, character, and integrity. To help you make this decision, look at your selection of friends, music, magazines, movies, and other things that influence you. Steer clear of any opportunities that may lead you to making risky and unhealthy choices. Make an effort to step out of your usual social circles, and surround yourself with people who support and respect your commitment to living a healthy, abstinent lifestyle. As a reminder to yourself and a sign to others of your dedication, you could wear a ring or a bracelet to symbolize your commitment, and the freedoms that it gives. It is important to take responsibility for any decision that you have made in the past, but be willing to forgive yourself for the choices that you regret. We all make mistakes. Concentrate not on where you've been, but on where you're going, focused on a future of healthier and smarter decisions. Want to know more about starting over? Click here. |

It takes a strong and honest person to admit their faults and have the courage to start again. A lot of times, if we lose respect for ourselves, we tend to lose respect for others. When this happens, it becomes easier and easier to fall into unhealthy physical relationships.
